What Assessment Involves
A thorough wound assessment goes well beyond appearance. Michèle evaluates wound dimensions, tissue type, exudate, periwound skin, vascular status, pain, and the patient's overall health — then builds a personalized care plan that guides every subsequent visit.

Removal of nonviable tissue to promote healing and reduce infection risk.
Why It Matters
Dead or damaged tissue blocks healing and creates a breeding ground for bacteria. Debridement removes that barrier so healthy tissue can form. It's often the single most important step in getting a stalled wound moving again.
